Get to know Nathaniel Austin

I am a Doctor of Nursing Practice and dual-certified Nurse Practitioner with over 10 years of experience in nursing and healthcare. I am board-certified as both a Family Nurse Practitioner and a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, which allows me to approach mental health care with a broad understanding of the whole person—not just their symptoms.

I feel drawn drawn to mental health because I am passionate about hearing peoples’ stories and the circumstances that led them to seek help. I believe that seeking support is a meaningful step toward feeling more balanced, understood, and connected to yourself. I strive to create a welcoming space where you can feel comfortable being open and honest about what you are experiencing without judgment.

About Nathaniel Austin

I work with individuals experiencing a range of mental health concerns and
recognize that everyone’s journey is different. I have experience with and I love
to work with underserved communities including LGBTQIA+, people with non-
traditional relationship styles such as polyamory, veterans, immigrants, low-
income/unstably housed, and the elderly. I also have extensive experience
treating mood, anxiety, and psychosis spectrum disorders, neurodivergence, and
complex clinical presentations. I recognize that working with individuals across
the lifespan (ages 12+) requires a thoughtful, individualized approach. I value
collaboration with other professionals, healthcare providers, and family members
to ensure comprehensive, coordinated care and promote positive treatment
outcomes.

Treatment plans are individualized with your needs in mind, as well as a
firm understanding that one size does not fit all. I am never directive, and prefer a
collaborative approach as we work to discover what works best for you.
Together, we can explore your concerns, identify meaningful goals, and develop
a treatment approach that fits your needs, values, and circumstances. My goal is
to help you feel heard and supported while working toward greater emotional
well-being and an improved quality of life. Whether you are navigating a difficult
transition, managing ongoing mental health concerns, unpacking trauma, or
simply feel that something needs to change, you do not have to navigate it alone.
