Get to know Richard Kelly
Growing up, I was always very close with my mother. As a child and throughout my adulthood, I watched her care for my father, my siblings, me, and our extended family. She cared deeply for everyone around her and made a positive impact on the lives of so many people. Through watching her, I learned the importance of compassion, kindness, respect, and being open to others.
My mother’s example inspired me to want to help people who are in need and support them throughout their journeys in life. I realized that I wanted to become a social worker and advocate for others. Her dedication to helping those around her showed me how meaningful it can be to make a difference in someone’s life, even through small acts of kindness and support.
As a therapist, my goal is to help my clients grow, overcome challenges, and accomplish their personal goals and needs. I want to create a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel comfortable sharing their struggles and experiences. Most importantly, I want to empower my clients to recognize their strengths, find solutions to their challenges, and feel confident in their ability to move forward. My mother taught me the importance of caring for others, and I hope to carry those lessons with me throughout my career by advocating for and supporting the individuals I serve.
