I have always been drawn to understanding how people think, feel, and make sense of themselves and the world around them. My work as a therapist grew from a desire to help individuals and families navigate challenges in a way that feels supportive, practical, and meaningful. I believe that when people feel safe, understood, and connected, they are better able to manage difficult emotions, understand themselves more deeply, and build confidence in their ability to navigate life’s challenges.

When working with clients, I focus on creating a warm, collaborative, and engaging environment where children, adolescents, and adults feel comfortable being themselves and expressing what they are experiencing. With children, I often incorporate play and interactive approaches that allow them to communicate and process experiences in ways that feel natural to them. I also value collaboration with parents and caregivers and strive to provide practical strategies that can support progress outside of therapy.

With adolescents and adults, I provide a space to explore emotions, relationships, life transitions, stress, anxiety, and patterns that may be contributing to feeling stuck or overwhelmed. I aim to balance insight and reflection with practical strategies clients can use in their everyday lives.

I am continually inspired by the resilience of the people I work with across all stages of life. My goal is to help clients better understand themselves, strengthen their relationships, develop effective ways of coping, and feel more equipped to navigate challenges with greater confidence.

About Veesser Aminpour Pohn

Veesser Aminpour Pohn earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin–Madison and her Master’s degree in Forensic Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. She is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) with experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and families in both clinical and community-based settings.

Veesser works with clients across the lifespan who are navigating anxiety, ADHD, developmental and neurodivergent differences, emotional regulation difficulties, relationship and family concerns, life transitions, and other sources of stress. She recognizes that these challenges can look different at every stage of life and tailors treatment to each client’s individual needs, strengths, and goals.

In her work with children and adolescents, Veesser utilizes developmentally appropriate and play-based approaches, including play therapy and DIR/Floortime, to support emotional regulation, communication, social development, and behavioral functioning. She works collaboratively with parents and caregivers when appropriate to help translate therapeutic progress into practical strategies that can be implemented at home, at school, and in everyday life.

In her work with adults, Veesser helps clients explore patterns in their thoughts, emotions, relationships, and experiences that may be contributing to anxiety, stress, difficulty coping, or feeling stuck. She supports clients in developing greater self-awareness, strengthening coping and communication skills, navigating relationships and life transitions, and creating meaningful changes in their lives.

Veesser believes therapy should be collaborative, individualized, and grounded in a strong therapeutic relationship. She strives to create a supportive and nonjudgmental environment where clients of all ages feel understood while also being encouraged to develop new perspectives, skills, and ways of approaching challenges.
